Subtle Family Conversion to OS

A couple of months ago I heard Martin on Radio 2 and I have been an avid fan ever since. I am really hooked on the forums and love the boards especially OS!
I mentioned the website to my kids (aged 17 and 14) and slowly over the last few weeks I have caught them taking sneeky peaks at the forum - DD (14) enjoying all the beauty tips (and freee DR and TD products ) and DS (17) getting ideas for money saving for when he goes to uni next September. He even said that the food we eat has been tastier since we found OS (thanks to all those yummy recipes)
OH less enthusiastic about the site until he realised we could save nearly £200 a year on our gas and electricity and now is truly converted!!
But I didnt think they really took it seriously until this morning I went to brush my teeth in the bathroom and to my complete surprise found that someone had taken the toothpaste and neatly folded up the end in a serious attempt to get as much toothpaste out as possible!!! Never been seen before in our house despite my attempt to manage our budget! Someone must have been reading OS board and taking it to heart ....
So thank you MSE and thank you which ever member of my family who has taken this all a bit more seriously!

Morning LushKat and welcome to OS
It's fab isnt it when you suddenly realise they're taking it all in. My dh laughed at me so much for using vinegar 'for everything' (cleaning and laundry wise) when we first started. This weekend just gone his parents came to stay, and I was working late (in our office at home), so he did the big clean up. He was pottering away, doing a fantastic job as usual, when all of a sudden he barged into the office waving a MINGING piece of tissue in his hand.
'Look at this' he demanded.
'What is it??' Me says
'It's the state of the windows in the spare bedroom - that vinegar is fantastic, they're all sparkly now!'
I nearly fell off my chair!!
He's just read this over my shoulder and is claiming 'misquotation' but only cos he's pretending to be embarrassed!!I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle0 -
It is good when things like that happen
I've always been OS inclined, partic on the food front(that's why I'm overjoyed to have found this site), but when my ds1(10yo) said he was going to take a hm muffin and bottle of water for his break snack at Judo lessons instead of buying a sugary drink and sweets there, because a)he was saving his money, and b)my muffins were nicer than sweets, and c) they were better for him than sweets and sugary drinks,I nearly cried with pride.(Sorry for v.long sentence)
His younger brother not so os minded,he welcomes the opportunity to buy sweets at judo(it's his only chance) :rolleyes:0
