Greasypalm - anyone have an answer please?

I received my first ever cheque from them this week but there is a difference of 5 quid between what they say online I have been sent and what I actually have on the cheque. They say they have sent me 30.27 on their website but I've actually received a cheque for 25.27. Is this normal? Do they deduct a fiver for the privilege of sending a cheque? I have e-mailed them about this but so far there's been a distinct lack of response from them.

Sorry, don't know - - but why are you using Greasypalm if you could get higher cashback at TCB or Quidco?

Don't they take a fiver off for admin off your first one or is that another cashback site?

Quidco take 5£/annum, TCB take nothing. Their merchant rates are literally identical. Neither give you a sign-up bonus, or have referral schemes (understandably, for their business models) but it is possible to 'make up' for this in probably just one or two transactions.

Quidco have a small comparison table that illustrates some differences. I 'shopped around' for lots of things that aren't on this table, and now don't even bother going to anybody but Quidco and TCB, and sometimes Rpoints (if merchant is not listed on Quidco/TCB).

sorry, should have put links in

    Quidco

    TCB (aka TopCashBack)

    Rpoints

There are also threads for each of these over on the referrer's board (even though there is no referral to get for Quidco or TCB)

anta, I am more than happy to refer you for Rpoints (as I am sure lots of others will be) - - but all you get is 200 Rpoints (£2) per Yves Rocher purchase. Both TCB and Quidco (no referrals on either!) pay £4 per YR purchase.

TCB also give you 45p if you sign up for the YR newsletter - - Rpoints give you 20 points (2p).

I am not trashing Rpoints here - it's a great site, they have more merchants than TCB or Quidco have, and they have a superb Forum, which neither Quidco nor TCB sport. Suppose it is up to everybody themselves whether they want to support the Rpoints site with its uniques, or just go and grab the best deal.

Good point - this could explain the delta in moggins' payout.

It's important to remember that there's usually a 2-3 month time lapse between earning the cashback and the payment, on all the sites. I believe most of this delay is down to the merchant, not the cashback site - but clearly, the later the cashback site pays out, the more interest they can make on their merchant funds. This is quite ok, because they have to make a decent living from providing us with the freebies

Some retailors also take longer to pay, it took me 6 months to get paid from Haven last year via Greasypalm
