I know its a long shot but you never know.
I pay tax in the 40% bracket, my wife pays 20%, can we combine our salaries to calculate the tax bracket we should pay? This total would be less than £64,000, if we both earned £32,000 we would each pay 20%, heres hoping?

Putting savings into your wifes name means you avoid the higher rate tax on the interest.0
