get in quick....rumours about their financial status

Woolworths was on the brink last night. The shares fell 32 per cent yesterday as hopes of a successful deal with its bankers, who are owed £385 million, faded. Despite its great charm and appeal for all those under the age of 11, Woolies has struggled for years. Shorn of its freeholds, heavily borrowed and facing a nasty consumer downturn, the company is now in real trouble. Failure would be politically explosive at the best of times

Thats a real shame - Woolies has always been a great place to do the christmas shopping. I did most of mine last year, split between wollies and toysrus and we had a very good christmas. The kids were so happy.
  • if they are in a really bad state perhaps its not a great idea to order anything online unless your insured with the use of a credit card. I cant imagine a problem but I wouldnt take the risk!
