I picked up one of the £40 5mp models earlier today.
    It's this one:
    Premier_ds_5080s.jpg
    Main features:
Small and lightweight (about the size of a pack of cigs), less than 90g
      5.0 megapixel CCD sensor
x4 Digital zoom (no optical zoom, but I wouldn't have expected it at this price!)
1.7in LCD screen (larger than most budget digicams)
14MB internal memory, SD card compatible (up to 1GB)
      Pictbridge enabled
Rechargeable Li-ion battery - previously unheard of in this price bracket! This is a major advantage over previous generations of budget digicams that 'ate' AA batteries; some would register as flat even if the battery was 99% charged - it had to be 100% or nothing!!
More info is available on the manufacturer's website

I can't tell what the quality of the pics are sadly, as I haven't opened the blister pack, but I'm pleased at the price. I was in Tescos getting some drinks in earlier when the till spat out a £6 off £30 spend voucher at me! - so needless to say, I just had to go back and get the 5mp camera for £34!! :xmassmile

BTW as the OP has said there were also 3mp Premier cameras at £29.99 - available in silver or pink, again in blister packs.

    HTH

P.S. This is a rebadged version of the BenQ DC C500 which retails for about £80.
