I just noticed on our credit card 8pounds has been taken our for the last three months from shopperdiscounts.co.uk. I had a quick search on the web and it seems that this company takes money from you when you have clicked on another site like interflora or easyjet WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION.

Does anyone know about this and how ir if we can get our money back ?

    From one post on mse

"Mrs GunJack ordered flowers from Interflora via the web and paid with credit card. The following month she had a transaction for £8 appear on her statement from shopdisc.co.uk.

We'd never heard of them, let alone bought anything from them. To cut a long story short, it appears that when you buy from Interflora, you are AUTOMATICALLY signing up for this tele-marketing company's subscription services. This was direct from the company's rep on the phone."

    shopdisc.co.uk is also shopperdiscounts.co.uk

I was scammed by this company after using Expedia.com If you phone the number on your credit card they will cancel your membership and refund the money that they've already taken (although you do have to be fairly insistent)

It pays, therefore, to actually look at boxes you're invited to tick ... with special offers. I've bought tickets from Trainline for several years ..... and I only get tickets + cashback!

It's the same with Interflora .... you need to tick the box .... there's nothing automatic about it.
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !
  • I booked a flight with Ryanair today and, to cut a long story short got caught by this outfit as I clicked on a box on the Ryanair site to 'Claim your £10 discount off your next booking'.

I think I've managed to cancel it and will keep an eye out for this lot on my CC statement.

I have emailed Ryanair ( not that that will do any good but I felt better for it) and also my CC company.

Grrrrrrrrr. I hate this sort of thing - at the very minimum it soaks up time and at worst is, ethically at least, theft.

Cancel the card. Now, if there is any kind of legal binding cotract the might turn it over to a 3rd part collecting agency.
