  • Thanks for that info rizla.

The only catch is that its valid for travel between Mon - Thurs only, not weekends :(

The other catch is that you have to go on the optimistically named 'Mega' bus. Tried it once, never again!!!
  • they sound ok but problem is we would have to drive in the opposite direction, pay for car park, then hop on towards London.... might be simpler just to take the train...

The offer's been going on since August so I don't think that there are any completely free seats left :( Nonetheless, there are some cheap tickets available.

What do you expect for 50p? If they went via my town I'd use it as I go to London every weekend to see my bf. I have to pay out £19, so I'd much rather it be 50p.

I've travelled on the megabus a couple of times and put the teenagers on one a few times as well. It is a bus not a coach , but for a couple of hours it is ok. The seats upstairs, anyway, didn't have head rests, so for a long journey I can see it would be horrible.
Anyway, I've taken the wrong booking number once and they were very good about calling up to check I was booked. The only bad moment was when I went to put two teenage kids on it and they said they didn't take unaccompanied minors ( nothing obvious on website tp say so), but they let them travel after confirming they would be met.HTH. :xmassign:
  • It's called megabus because it's not a coach, so no misleading there. They are slowly updating their ex-Hong Kong fleet and the new ones are much better. Sometimes they're faster than National Express in terms of getting from A to B. NX often stop too much at intermediate stops. For comfort and ambiance, megabus is not an option, but, as ever, you get what you pay for. And it's good to have the choice. NX was a monopoly before and they've had to trim their prices.

  • For all the 50p whingers, dont go! Use the hyper-inflated NX and pay £20+

I've used it, and for 50p I have no complaints.
