Nope - it will come up with a message about licensing restricitons if you try....well always does for me anyway. If I ever try and record a program I watch from the catch up tv option it says that as well. It is soooooo annoying:confused:

I've never had any problem recording Catch Up TV of films using DVD recorder set to the cable channel.

I have successfully recorded films from on demand onto my PVR, this would be the only way to record it, with a separate recorder.
Mind you not sure I would want to keep any of these films, but watching for 1p worth it.
2 good films for half term week as well :)

V+ is Virgin Media's equivalent of Sky+. You can record another channel while watching a different one etc.

V+ is currently £75 installation and £5 per month subscription. Although if your on the XL TV Package I believe the subscription is free.

I have Virgin Media but I haven't bothered with the V+ as I find most of the stuff I miss appears in the On-Demand area. I also have a Freeview recorder for stuff I really want to record.

I agree it is possible to record catch up and on demand films using dvd recorders or hard drives, but the question that was asked is could they be recorded using V+ and the answer is definitely no.
  • Although they say V+ installaion is £75 we had it installed last month for £0!! We said we were leaving going to sky etc etc, got a great deal on tv/internet/phone and then I said yes but if i go to sky i can have sky+ and managed to get v+ for nowt and had it intstalled the following Sat morning for nothing!!
