How to get crayon off a table??

Hi all, hope someone can help me with this. My neighbour recently left and gave me her table (which is great as I have 4 kiddies and it is a six seater table!). Anyway, the table has green wax crayon on some parts which seems to have gone into the grain of the wood and I wondered if anyone had any idea how I could get this out. My mum told me to try neat washing up liquid but this hasnt worked. It also has a small felt tip mark which wont budge either.
TIA

Sticky stuff remover from either lakeland or wilkinsons will definitely remove wax crayon, I've used it on walls.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0

try very carefully to put an old teatowel on the table and place a hot iron over ,please be carefull this doesnt scorch the table but it should help melt the wax to wipe of0

if you can what about covering it with a couple of layers of kitchen roll then running an iron over it to melt the wax.this worked when i had candle wax on a carpet.also hairspray works to take felt tip pen off of clothing you spray then rub ,spray then rub and continue ?could be adapted for table in some way.
good luck

Kim (kim and aggie) used hairspray to clean crayon from a painted wall. She sprayed it on left it for a few mins, then wiped it off with a damp cloth and the crayon came off to.

And my OH wondered why I didn't want to spend a stack of cash on some new desperately needed lounge furniture. Am fully expecting little toad to trash everything in time.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Hi all, the hairspray removed the felt tip which is great but using the iron over kitchen roll unfortunately didnt budge the crayon. It is really deep in the grain, does anyone have any other tips/ideas.
TIA

If it's that ingrained, you might never get it out. So how about disguising it? Try a bit of brown shoe polish? If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
