i never parboil spuds for roasting, always do too many and freeze the remainder.
Spuds keep ok in the sack at this time of year anyway, if it's paper or hessian.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

I have taken to buying the half sacks of potatoes which are 12.5 kgs.
And they are in paper and the last bag kept in the larder which is cool and dark for 5 weeks and none had gone off or where moudly.

They are in a paper sack...but bought one of those special potato sacks from lakeland that claim to keep your tates fresher for longer(they really do work!)
I just thought I might give par boiling and freezing a go for convenience, really.
Cheers!

Make sure you boil them for at least 5 minutes though, or they turn black in the freezer0

I'm going to try freezing par-boiled spuds now - great idea.:T
I already bulk prep and par-steam parnsips, then bag them in portions. really handy for roast dinners, get them out of the freezer, squirt some oil in the bag, squish it around a bit and bung them on a tray in the oven for say 15-20 mins for perfect roast parsnips.
tescos have parsnips on at half price in case any one wants to stock up.
