Home highlights kit - hair gone orange!!!

Can anyone help ... I used a home highlights kit last night and must have left it on too long/not long enough as where the highlights are are bright orange!! Apart from going to the hairdressers to get it corrected is there anything I can do? My hair is darkisih brown and Ive read mixed views as to whether dyeing over the top will just make them worse or change the colour to green......

Hi
If you've got dark hair perhaps the highlighting stuff wasn't left on quite long enough. You could try doing a strand test on a little bit of the hair that's gone orange, leave the solution on for a bit longer and see if it goes the lighter colour you were wanting it to go?0 -
Thanks Dill, Yes In Certain Areas It Is Lovely And Natural, But I Wasnt Sure Whether To Try And Fix It Or Cut My Losses And Get To The Hairdressers! I Didnt Think My Hair Was That Dark And Checked The Expected Results On The Box And It Looked Great. Followed The Instructions To The Letter Too.0

It sounds as if you had dark hair to start with and did not use a high enough developer. Some tips here that I put on another thread:
