If you want to try your hand at making some halloween props, then visit http://www.madhauscreative.com/Halloween%20projects.html
I've made a few items from there.
Also for something a bit more tricky and different you could try to make some thing from here : http://ravensblight.com/papertoys.html0 -
on the run up to halloween last yr i got loads from our local pound shops and tesco
all cost pretty little. The spider web stuff is the best for making the place "spooky" and its pretty cheap - then just shove some plastic spiders onto it

I've made cheap cushion covers from old sheeting and appliqued witch, bat and ghost shapes on them, I've made over the door hangings in a similar way but finished with a zig zag edge, also done a trick or treat bucket using a smallish orange beach bucket, then stuck on halloween shapes to make a pumkin face, we've been keeping old cereal boxes to make some grave stones, cut our ghost, bat pumkin shapes from the cardboard, painted them, black, white or orange for shapes to stick on the windows, also to make mobiles and strings of hanging decs, used a couple of cheap dolls to make a wizard and witch, Just sorting out our costumes now, OH will be Dracula and I'll be a witch.......
I've been looking on ebay at the decs there and there are ways you can adapt their ideas. I'm contemplating doing jars of yeuky things as decorations as well as 'horrible' food eg blackcurrant (blood) jelly with worms(jelly sweets) or frogs, small pizzas as witches faces, horrible hooch etc0 -
I made some decorations last year- just used black paper (got it from wilkos) and cut out spiders, bats and stuck them to the windows & doors. I got a load of stuff from poundland- door hangers, tinselly stuff, bowl for the sweets, i even got some lights that had eyeballs on that i decorated round my wishing well at the fornt & also a plastic gravestone which i also put at the front- i wanted to get a red lightbulb for my outside light too -but couldnt find one in time! It didnt cost me anymore than 10 pounds! Now im debt free i want to be fat free too!0
