After hand washing I put my hand wash jumpers inside a pillow case, tied up with an elastic band and put them in them washing machine on a slow spin. Then layed it on a towel over a radiator

  • I just throw mine straight in the washer on a fast spin. It's never done them any harm. Then i lie it flat on the shelf in the airing cupboard to dry.

Lay out a big thick towel, put the cardi out flat on it (pull into shape), then roll the whole lot up into a sausage shape and twist (wring) from both ends - this will take out loads of water. Then you could drape it on another towel over the banister.

The instructions may say that you have to dry it flat- it might be a good idea to check?

try not to wring wool because that will damage it. I would roll it in a towel and not squeeze it. POundland does those popup basket things you can hang up to dry delicates in.

If it's machine knit, I just throw it in the washer, mine have all been ok. If it's handknitted I wash by hand, roll into a towel like Bennifred, but I don't wring it, I just lean on it a bit till the towel's wet, then lay it out onto another towel and pull it into shape and leave it on the floor to dry.

i left it overnight dripping its almost dry now.
it doesnt say how to dry it on label just dont tumbel and handwash only. last time i washed one of his diesel jumpers my washer broke and it shrunk! it fits me now, oh what a shame! i didnt do it on purpose though and i wasnt very popular. OH would have just thrown it away rather than wash it...

    Thankyou all xxxxxxxx
