money to move abroad...
i'm moving to spain next month and i need a little cash to smooth the passage. i was thinking i could top-up my current loan and get another £1500 or so just to make sure the credit card was paid off and i had cash for deposit for flat in spain and emergencies (but hopefully not spend it all!).
unfortunately the bank i have a loan with won't give me any more money as i don't have an active current account with them so would have to transfer my salary payments into that account and wait at least 3 months to prove that i'm worthy of the extra cash.
i can't go to my current bank to ask for money as of course with me moving overseas to start a theoretically self-employed job, they wouldn't give me any money and i don't blame them.
so where can i go next? i thought i could go to a loans company but i'm not sure in the current climate whcih would be the right one to go to... and i'd have to negate to mention that i'm moving away (even though my new job will pay more i doubt anyone would see me as a good risk)
just wondering if anyone has any ideas? thanks

Sorry can't help.
If you have guaranteed work out there would it be feasible to get a work related loan to cover expenses from your new employer?0 -

hi guys, and thanks for your responses.
unfortunately i won't be able to get a loan from the new employer as legally i won't be employed by them. i will be freelance but they will give me all of my work - sounds a bit dodgy but apparently it works okay for the other staff!
i'm not after a huge amount of money - about £1200 - so if anyone has any ideas that would be great. thanks0 -
get a second job for a month. If you waitress you'll get tips and free food, so it'd be a double saving.
Sell stuff on ebay.
lol....erm....I think that's me out of ideas.£1600 overdraft

What about a 0% credit card - MBNA transfer the money directly into your current account as long as your credit history is resonable you should get a limit of over £1200
The monthly payments are only £25 a month aswell while on the promotional rate so should give you a bit of a breathing space while you get yourself setup in Spain.0 -
:rotfl: See sweetie you may not have to sell a kidney after all!
I liked the super balance transfer card idea, and I suppose MBNA aren't any bigger B@r$tards than the rest of the CC companies!
And Credit cards are a much more flexible type of repayment...
