FoodLoversBritain.com has teamed up with Woodland Ways to offer you the opportunity to win one of two free one-day foraging courses with the Woodland Ways Bushcraft Instructors.
Woodland Ways deliver both Spring and Autumn Foraging courses to enable you to see the variety of resources on offer at different times of the year. On both courses you’ll join the instructors on a days forage around their Oxfordshire woodland to see what you can find.
During these forages you’ll cover flora identification techniques, and some of the useful edible and medicinal plants available in British woodlands. Also, through hands on training, you’ll learn how to harvest these resources in a sustainable manner, and finally how to prepare each ingredient. There’ll be tasting sessions throughout the day and the chance for you to practice cooking techniques.
You’ll have the opportunity, should you wish, to prepare and cook your own game lunch around the campfire, (Vegetarian options are always available). This lunch will be either Rabbit, Pigeon, Partridge, Pheasant, or Trout. If you have a specific interest in a particular food type then let Woodland Ways know in advance and they’ll do their best to accommodate you.
