Avis is giving away 500 car rentals for just £1 a day. Locations include London, Birmingham and Glasgow, as well as France and Spain.
You need to book before 25 August, for car hire between 26 August 2008 and 25 October 2008. If you manage to find a £1 a day deal, please post below. For lots more cheap care hire and tips on insurance read the Cheap Car Hire guide.

Have only looked at Birmingham nothing for dates I want but found 2, 1 day rentals September on 4th and 7th September for Clio's, and a 4 day rental from 7-11 Sept for £4.00
Sure if people find deals for hire they dont want can post them here

Just got myself a little clio (or similar) for four days for a tenner (B'ham 25-29 Sept) .... well its gonna cost me about £6 and 20mins on the train to the airport! Bargain nevertheless!!! Thanks

thanks for the heads up. £3 for 3 days from stansted.... not bad, but hope i can get flights with ryanair so i can use the car hire...their site is down for maintenance!

Ive also got a few manchester ones which ill ask family and friends if they would like them, if not will also add them aswell, soon as poss.
I doubt i find out if anyone nabs one of the dates ive posted without saying thanks, but if i do, in future i wont go out of my way as took me about an hour finding these, ill just make people pm me instead, so appreciate the help and press thanks If people cant help people on these threads, then they should rather not say anything then say something which isnt any use to the person who needs help0 -
there are 5 dates that i found in morning for manchester, unfortunately had them saved on a notepad which someone in fam, came and closed because they wanted to switch pc off, so keep looking, and just a quick way of checking for these £1 dates is to, not just try and look for 4 days maximum, that way youre missing a couple of days, so for example dont search from the 1st to the 4th then 5th to the 9th, as you will miss 2 days out and will miss out on the £1 offers. Be patient and check every date until the next day so 1-2 2-3 3-4 etc etc, that way youre hopeully sure to find something. plus i found it quicker doing it day by day as if i didnt i would have been doing random days 1-3 1-2 1-4 (as maximum days youre allowed car for is 4, so dont think you will find 4 days in a row) etc all the bestIf people cant help people on these threads, then they should rather not say anything then say something which isnt any use to the person who needs help0
