Walk in the footsteps of movie stars at Castle Howard, location of the new “Brideshead Revisited” movie, before exploring the beautiful North York Moors National Park and enjoying the surrounding Yorkshire landscapes. Enjoy a two night stay for two people at Welburn Lodge as well as £50 in Castle Howard gift vouchers, enough to pay for your entrance to the house and gardens, buy lunch at the award-winning courtyard caf!, or spend in the shops.

Castle Howard became famous all over the world when it featured as Brideshead Castle in the popular 1981 TV mini-series Brideshead Revisited, starring Jeremy Irons, Anthony Andrews and Diana Quick. Twenty-seven years later, a new generation will see Castle Howard revisiting its role as Brideshead Castle in a new feature film which goes on general release later in the year.

During the summer of 2007, Castle Howard was a hive of activity during the making of the new film that stars Michael Gambon and Emma Thompson as Lord and Lady Marchmain, Matthew Goode as Charles Ryder, Ben Whishaw as Sebastian Flyte, and Hayley Atwell as Julia Flyte.

Castle Howard opened once-ruined rooms in the High South that were used as sets in the film, and now houses a ‘Brideshead Revisited’ exhibition. These High South rooms were damaged in a fire in 1940, and their dilapidated state meant they could be used to house sets for the production.
