GHD Hair Straighteners (2005 merged threads)

i need some hair strighteners, never had any before but wondered if the glass ones by babyliss were any good. does anyone have these. I have long hair but i don't think they do the wide ones anymore. would the slim ones be ok. also i would probably only use them once a week, would i need to to put anything on my hair to protect it. any advice appreciated.
