How many years has Shambala been running?

ten

Summer is back and the festival season is far from over. If you fancy getting out of town over the August bank holiday, why not park your tent at one of the season’s least commercial shindigs – Shambala, which runs from August 22-25 in Northamptonshire.

One of the original boutique events (it was started in 1999 by a group of mates), it’s famed for its diversity and community spirit. There’s the usual mix of music stages, cabaret, craft and healing areas, food stalls, ‘surprises’ and kids play areas. But the best thing about Shambala is its resolutely small size (6,500) and the complete lack of any corporate branding. Compared to the likes of America’s famous desert fest Burning Man it's the place to listen to cutting-edge DJs, learn to knit, play the ukulele, eat cake, sit in hot tubs and face paint with the kids. Go now before the secret gets out!

We've got a pair of tickets to give away.

G'luck! :D
