Just by luck today we bought some mixed fruit n nut for a picnic and it came up on the till at 1p!! It is in a red packet and either by the crisps or snacks
They are 40g in a red packet 'You are What you eat' is the brand and has a fitness first sticker on the front which is out of date hence the reduction.
Includes crimson raisins/apricots/pecan/cashews/hazelnuts but 27% raisins
Good for 1p!!

This has already been posted by oliveoyl in the Tesco Mega Reductions thread.

However, I guess it could get missed there so a separate thread might be a good idea.
The reality is that the awareness level about this is high enough to mean that most stores have been cleaned out. There are at least two varieties going through at 1p, the fruit & nut mix as posted above and also the fruit, nut & seed mix.

I bought them two weeks ago and they were 12p - still, a very good buy!!! I stocked about 50 bags!!! I was going through the shop and collecting all of them - there were none left after me!!!
I use them for my an OH lunch boxes.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
Don't get too excited, the reason items drop to 1p is because they are no longer being stocked and when the computer drops them to 1p they should be removed from sale.
The staff should check any items at this price and take the goods off the shelf, you got lucky.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -

Yes.... dont we know it.... PCWorld had some stuff on their website for 1p and we tried *everywhere* to get it - phoned all round the UK - where theres a will theres a way!!
Eventually, we phoned customer services and was told exactly that - that the goods get reduced to 1p for the computer to read it as non-scan/discontinued
Hey well, you live and learn!

I work at a school so always on the lookout for bargains for school fayres etc. Went into Tesco on holiday and bought some reduced pens for 10p (Still 40p in our local). Was told by the manager that instead of throwing things away when they get to 1p their store donates them to local schools, cubs, kids clubs etc. Might be worth having a chat with customer ssrvices at local store if you are interested. I went to ours but they donate to another school because one of their staff have kids there. Still worth asking anyway.0

Please be VERY careful. Out-of-date nuts have high levels of alfatoxins which cause several forms of cancer. If there is one 'bargain' you should always avoid it is nuts close to their sell by date.
Saving a few pence should never take precedence over your health and your life. You should aways buy nuts with a long sell-by date (and even then, tests have shown that many nuts have high alfatoxin levels, even when not passed the relevant date).

No, I think the OP meant that the 'fitness first' promotion was out of date not the nuts ?surfsister wrote: »Just by luck today we bought some mixed fruit n nut for a picnic and it came up on the till at 1p!! It is in a red packet and either by the crisps or snacks

That's right. The packs I picked up the other day all have a best before date of Oct 08.Barneysmom wrote: »It didn't show on the website search just, so might be finished now?
These are only available in store and you have to search for them on the clip strips throughout the store. People are still finding these, so it's worth keeping your eyes open.

I got some last night in Glasgow Silverburn for 1p each. They were the 40g ones and they only had the fruit, nut & seed mix. Managed to get 34 packets (all they had on the shelf!) thanks so much to Surfsister for the heads up on this one.0
