Hi all just went into our local Blockbuster and all family movies are 50p for 2 nights rental for the whole of the summer holidays. They had all the usual Disney films and also Pirates of the Carribean (all 3), Night at the Museum, Racing Stripes Barnyard etc as well. Just hired P of the C 2 & 3 cos I hadnt seen them! Dont know if this applies to the whole country but worth a look.
Also 2 bags of Haribo for £2, 2 bags Popcorn for £2 and Haagan daaz 500ml £2.49 with any rental.
Few cheap movie nghts to be had here I think - and keeps the kids happy in the holidays. And cos I only joined today - the girl said I'll receive some free rental vouchers in the post in the next few days - and her tip was to keep them for "our" movies as the rental was dearer!! Result:j

Nice spot! Until 26 August, all Blockbuster stores are offering a selection of family movies for rental at 50p each for two nights.
Titles include Ratatouille, Enchanted, The Simpsons Movie, Cars, Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium, Alvin And The Chipmunks, Spiderman 3, Harry Potter, Shrek and Stardust.
Find your nearest Blockbuster.
Many thanks to MoneySaver sallyjh for the heads up. Happy viewing!

i actually hired some dvds for the firtst time from our local library in B'ham. They are doing BOGOF at the moment and you get to keep them for a week.
Worth looking at if you're near a library.0 -
I remember last year Blockbuster doing the same thing but it was only 25p, that's now double from just last summer! :eek:0

Tried the Blockbuster 50p last weekend. The DVD's are so scratched and damaged it was actually unpleasant to watch - stuttering, stop-start,...
Took out 3 DVD's, and only one worked properly - had to make another trip back there to swap - but the replacement copies were just as bad.
But I guess for the rental price can't really complain.....0 -

last year it was for 1 night only
Yes, we did have a lot of dvds that were scratched, but every time we complained, we got a fresh copy for the next night FOC, & a credit of £1 on our account.0 -

complain and they often give you a free rental0 -
most stores are not equipped with an in store Disk cleaner, which will make the disk brand new.
This will help in customers being dodgy always saying DVD's are faulty
