Knitting supplies question

Hello,
Dunno if this is in the right place
Can anyoneplease tell me if they've used angel yarns to get their wool delivered? Are they reputable?
I took a mad fit about a week and a half ago and ordered from their website (and subsequently threw my budget out of kilter)
They sent me an email saying there was a delay in the order. I've since emailed them to ask for a rough estimate of how long it will be and I've had no response. I'm not worried yet but there is a voice in my head telling me I've been so stupid to just order of the net without checking them out first.
Cheers for any info

Angel Yarns host their own message board: http://www.knittingforums.co.uk/ which I enjoy reading through. They have many devotees on there and I doubt they would have such a loyal following if they were not reputable. I have never ordered from them however because I find the website too difficult to navigate quickly, so cannot comment on speed of delivery. One site I can recommend is Get Knitted (No affiliation, just a happy customer)0

Angel Yarns are well-known to be slow on delivery! Do you use Ravelry? There are threads in some of the UK-based forums about them. Also on Livejournal in the Brit_Knits community.
As far as I can tell, the problem is that Angel Yarns don't hold stock. You place your order, then they order it from their supplier. Angel don't tell you whether or not the item is in stock when you order, nor are they very good at keeping you informed. You probably will get your order eventually, but it's not unheard of for it to take months.
The good news is, if you ring them up, they're good about cancelling the order and refunding you. (Which is good, because they take payment when you place the order, not when it's despatched...)
You might be better off getting your stuff somewhere else, even if it's not as cheap!0 -
I've had stuff from them before and they are reliable. I get most of my wool from here http://www.coldspringmill.co.uk/yarn.htm The website is rubbish but the actual mill itself is an Alladin's cave for knitters. If you can go there for a visit...even better. Happy knitting!Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

I got sucked into the angel yarns forum and ended up buying a lot of wool and knitting related items from them. Many of the items arrived very late and a bit at a time. I have not used them since. Also overly expensive. Brilliant service and prices from these people and I have used them a lot

Thank you so much for the replies. Still haven't had a reply to my email so I'll see about cancelling. And also thanks for the alternative suppliers too
