E: 15.08.08 - Design a Badge for Hawkin and win £50 vouchers!

In a flash of inspired originality (and perhaps a passing nod to Blue Peter), we decided it was time we had an official Hawkin’s Bazaar badge. And we’re hoping you might like to design it for us. As well as £50 worth of Hawkin vouchers, the winner of the best design will have the satisfaction of having their artwork made in to smart metal badges, which, in the future, will be awarded to anyone who sends us something particularly creative, funny or clever as well as future competition winners and to any one we just really like. Badge holders will also have special privileges (those original ideas just kept coming - we’ll have a dog called shep and be up to our ears in Elephant poop before you know it) – we haven’t worked out what they will be yet, but we promise they will be good. It’s easy to enter – simply create your design on an A4 piece of paper. Design it large – we will shrink the final design down to fit on a badge about 4cm high. See below for design tips and suggestions. Once your design is finished, email it to competitions@hawkin.com or post to ‘Pin the badge on Hawkin’ at the usual address. The best design will be chosen on the 15 August. And don’t forget to tell us your name, age and address so we can contact you and please explain the inspiration behind your design. Design hints and suggestions: Keep it simple – the badge is very small, so don’t make your design too detailed, it will be lost when we shrink it down. Use the colours we use on our website and in our latest catalogues (you don’t have to use all of them). Think how to sum up what we sell – it’s all about having fun, so serious, corporate looking designs may not be the way to go! Make it any shape you like - be creative.
