Terms And Conditions



1. These Terms and Conditions apply if you enter Sky Sports Fantasy Football 2008/09 ("the Game") located at www.skysports.com/fantasyfooball (the “Website") which is operated by Fantasy League Limited of Unit 4, Selous House, 5-12 Mandela Street, London, NW1 0DU ("Fantasy League"). You are bound to play within the terms and conditions of play as specified.
2. The Game is only open to persons residing in UK and ROI.
3. Employees of British Sky Broadcasting Limited (”Sky”), Fantasy League or associated companies, their relatives, agents or agents' relatives are not eligible to win prizes.
4. PRIZES (allocated as detailed in the main website): The winner of the Overall Season competition is deemed to be the manager whose team has accumulated the most Fantasy League points throughout the competition. The Knockout Cup competition will be decided by a series of rounds during which teams will be matched against each other with the manager whose team has accumulated the most Fantasy League points during the relevant week going through to the next round. The winner of the Knockout Cup competition is deemed to be the manager whose team has accumulated the most Fantasy League points during the week of the final round. The Manager of the Month prize will be awarded to the manager whose team has accumulated the most Fantasy League points in a particular month (September to April only of current Game season). Each week the team who scores the most points will be entered in to a big end of season Grand Final. On the last weekend of the Premier League season each weekly winner’s team will compete against each other. The team with the most points will win their Manager a trip for 2 to the 2009 Champions League final in Rome. The Private League Championship will be awarded to the top 5 teams in the winning Private League. The winning Private League will be that with the highest combined score from its top 5 teams. If two or more entries have the same points for a particular prize eligibility, then goals scored followed by assists are taken into account to find an overall winner. In the event that there is still no clear winner, the earliest entrant of the tied teams will be deemed the winner.
If you win a Sky+ box with Sky TV subscription you will be required to sign two subscription contracts (one Sky digital and one Sky+ subscription contract). After the 12 months viewing included in your prize, you will automatically be charged the standard subscription price of £47 per month for Sky World and any cost attributable to your Sky+ subscription, unless you change or cancel those subscriptions. Other Sky digital packages available and Sky+ subscription (required for Sky+ Personal Video Recorder functionality) is currently free for new Sky digital subscribers while you subscribe to any Sky digital package, otherwise £10 per month. Prices, programmes and channels subject to change and Sky digital packages may change in accordance with the subscription contracts. You must be over 18 and resident in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands or Isle of Man. The prize is for domestic use only, pubs, clubs or other commercial properties prohibited. You will need Sky+ professionally installed even if you already have a minidish. Extra costs may apply for non-standard installation. Installation may be subject to delay. You must keep your Sky+ box connected to a fixed and operational telephone line for at least 12 months. If you need a minidish you are responsible for obtaining all consents required e.g. landlord’s consent, before installation. Sky Box Office Movies, Stand-alone Premium Channels and pay-per-view services and events are not included in the prize and must be paid for separately. Winners must redeem their prize within one year, failure to process your installation application within this time period could result in loss of prize. Sky may refuse entry or withdraw the prize if you or anyone you authorise to deal with your entry acts in a way towards staff of Sky or the Promoter which Sky reasonably considers to be inappropriate. 5. TIES: In the event of two teams finishing level on points scored for any prize competition, the winner will be the entrant who has scored the most goals during the relevant period, followed by the most assists. If there is still no separating the tied teams, teams will be placed in order of the time that they were entered, with the team have entered earliest being deemed the winner.
6. At Fantasy League’s discretion, cash alternatives may be offered in place of the specific prizes. Such cash alternatives may have to be taken by winners. Fantasy League will make best endeavours to obtain the stated tickets to football matches but entrants accept that these events have limited availability and it may not always be possible to obtain tickets. If this is the case then the winner agrees to accept the offered cash alternative prize. Winners will be contacted at the email address they have provided as part of their registration for the Game within one month of winning any prize. Winners will have 10 working days to respond to their email notification and claim their prize. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of their prize. Delivery of prizes is included within the United Kingdom only. Winners living overseas are liable for the extra shipping expenses and all related import and export duties, taxes and levies. For all prizes that include any form of travel, the starting destination will be the United Kingdom and winners and the accompanying party must have valid passports and carry all necessary documents (including visas, if necessary). Winners of these prizes will be expected to organise their own travel to the departure destination and will be responsible for all additional costs and expenses associated with using this prize including travel to and from the airport, transfers, meals, hotel mini bar and/or phone calls, travel insurance, loss of usage. We suggest that winners should arrange suitable travel insurance to cover the trip. Any winners under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult on trips.
7. GENERAL: The judges' decision in relation to the award of prizes and all other matters associated with the Game will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. The prizes are non-transferable and there are no alternative prizes unless determined by Fantasy League.
8. Entry into the Game constitutes permission for Fantasy League, Sky and/or their associated, affiliated and subsidiary companies to use the names, team selections and photographs of participants for publishing purposes at its discretion. All winners may be required to participate in such publicity as Fantasy League and/or Sky reasonably require.
9. DATA: During the registration process for the Game, you will be offered an “opt-out” if you do not wish to receive periodic communications from Fantasy League and/or Sky (this may include e-mail) about features, products and services, events and special offers including advertising for third party companies or organisations. In doing so, you acknowledge that if you do not “opt-out” you will receive such communications and may be contacted by Fantasy League and/or Sky after the Game has finished.
10. No entrant is allowed to enter more than one team, irrespective of whether you have more than one valid email address. Any entrant being found to have entered more than one team will have all subsequent teams removed.
11. CONFIRMATION OF ENTRY: On entering a team into the Game, entrants will be emailed a validation link to confirm that the registered email address is correct and in use. This must be clicked in order to for the team to be enabled.
12. Incorrect, incomplete or corrupted entries will not be accepted. The computer record of the entry will be considered to be the entry. The decision of Fantasy League is final.
13. The website may not be available at all times and Fantasy League cannot be held liable if the website is unavailable at any time. Fantasy League and its associated, affiliated and subsidiary companies do not accept liability for technical, hardware or software failures of any kind or lost or unavailable network conditions which may limit or prohibit the opportunity to participate in the Game.
14. ENTRY DEADLINES: In order to score points for the full duration of the game, entry must have been recorded no later than 12:45 BST on 16th August 2008. Any team entered after the above deadline will score points from the next scheduled Premier League match after the entry is received. Player points scored before the team was entered will not be added in retrospect.
15. TEAM NAMES: Fantasy League reserves the right to refuse team names that are felt in its sole opinion to be inappropriate or offensive. Unsuitable names will be deleted and the team will appear under the entrant’s name.
16. PLAYER LIST: The players are those included on the player list and Fantasy League has determined their classifications. Fantasy League will not enter into any correspondence relating to details of the player list, nor will they accept the inclusion into a squad of any player not on the published list. Players may be added to and removed from the player list during the game at the discretion of Fantasy League.
17. SCORING POINTS: Players in your team score points based on their performance in Barclays Premier League matches only. Please refer to the Scoring Points page for a detailed breakdown of how the scoring mechanism works.
18. TEAM CHANGES: Unlimited team changes are permitted prior to 12:45 BST on 16th August 2008. After this time, changes can only be made as outlined on the Making Transfers page. All team changes are effective immediately. Any changes made after the scheduled start of a match will only take effect from the start of the following match.
19. The rules and points structure are the copyright of Fantasy League. No information may be reproduced in any format without prior written consent from Fantasy League. “Fantasy League”, “Sky” and “Sky Sports” are registered trade marks and cannot be used without the express permission of their respective owners.
20. Informative and explanatory copy relating to Fantasy League, including the scoring system and rules, form part of the terms and conditions of this game.
21. Fantasy League reserves the right to refuse to accept any entry which, in its sole opinion, does not comply with the terms and conditions of the competition or which contravenes the spirit of the competition. Fantasy League further has an absolute discretion to disqualify any entry, or vary, amend or waive the terms and conditions of the competition at any time and participants agree that no liability shall attach to Fantasy League as a result thereof and that the exercise of such discretion shall not result in any compensation being payable or paid to any participant. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules.
22. Any site users or entrants found to be attempting or suspected of attempting to hack into any servers or systems run by Fantasy League will be immediately removed from the system and have any entry, subscriptions or payments cancelled. Such users will have no right to any refunds and Fantasy League reserves the right to report the matter to the relevant authorities.
23. Fantasy League will make all reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of the Game information on the Website and to update such information on a regular basis, but Fantasy League do not guarantee that such information will be accurate or up-to-date at all times.
24. Fantasy League reserve the right to investigate any complaints that they receive but shall be under no obligation to do so. Should Fantasy League choose to exercise this right, its decision shall be final and binding on all complainants and they shall not enter into any correspondence regarding its decision or any other matter.
25. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions proves to be illegal or unenforceable, this shall not prevent the remaining provisions continuing in full force and effect.
26. These Terms and Conditions will be interpreted in accordance with English law and the entrants agree that all claims arising from their participation in the Game that they may bring against Fantasy League will be under the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
27. Sky may rely upon and enforce these Terms and Conditions.
