Cookrite Plate

Options
Hi all

I have just invested in a new gadget for the kitchen - its a cookrite plate. It looks genius and I bought it at a discounted rate of £20 (RRP £28 but on their website for £25). You don't need to add additional fat or oils to your cooking and cooking time is reduced by 25%. The recipe book that came with it looks great. I just wondered if anyone else has one? If so have you got any recipes? I'll let you know how I get on with it :)

Thanks

Caroline

Edit: can't understand why Google couldn't find it. I've had a look and am not convinced I would buy one. I'd like to see/hear/taste the results so if you could post back how you get on with it I'd be interested.

But what is it made of? It says it isn't metal but it doesn't say what it is! Have to say I like cooking with cast iron or stainless steel because they seem safest.

I know its a polymer. I am told its similar to the rubber moulds you can get nowadays for baking cakes etc but this is more rigid.

Well I tried roast potatoes at the weekend on it and they turned out really well. Not a drop of fat used. My other half prefered the normal method for roasties but I thought the cookrite way was fine and if he hadn't of known, he probably wouldn't have been able to tell the difference. I was going to try thai style coconut prawns on it (from the recipe book that came with it) but have just read the last chapter of 'Not On The Label' and don't think I'll ever eat prawns again!!!
