This site has lots of vintage pattern and instruction books for all sorts of crafts - knitting, crochet, tatting, lacemaking, cross stitch - the list goes on and on.

Here is the introduction for the first book. '-- Lady's Book of Knitting, Containing New and Easy Patterns of Useful and Ornamental Work. Compiled and Edited by a Lady Expert, Who Has Conscientiously Tested All of Them.'

So far my favourite is the Beehive Knitting Booklets No. 9. There are so many ideas for pressies.

Moanymoany - what a fantastic site! Thank you so much for sharing it with us even though it has now stopped me from doing any proper work for the next hour or so!

I've had a good look through them now and I think there are some really interesting items to crochet and knit. Does anyone tat these days? I've only seen it done once.

There are some beautiful designs for experienced embroiderers, probably not available anywhere else.

Some of the slippers, hotty covers, bags and loads of things are good gifts.

    I long to make muffatees.
