Sunday Times Where Was I? competition
The competition starts on Sunday and ends on Wednesday
The prize: a luxurious long weekend in Reykjavik, as guests of the Hotel Centrum and Iceland Express. The winners will stay for three nights, B&B, at the Hotel Centrum, which opened in 2005 in renovated buildings on one of the city’s oldest streets. As the property was being restored, a Viking long house dating from the 9th or 10th century was discovered on the site and is now on display under the hotel. The Centrum is a great base from which to explore Iceland’s compact capital and to launch trips into the wilderness that lies beyond — whether it’s to witness exploding geysers and magnificent waterfalls, go whale-watching or take a relaxing dip in the Blue Lagoon. For more details, call 00 354 514 6000 or visit www.reykjavikhotels.is/centrum.
The prize also includes return flights with Iceland Express, Iceland’s no-frills airline, which offers 10 flights a week from Stansted to Reykjavik, with returns from £180pp, including taxes. For more details, visit www.icelandexpress.com or call 0870 240 5600.
