YELLOW PAGES COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
1. This competition is open to UK residents aged 18 or over except employees of Yellow Pages, Yell Ltd, News Group Newspapers Ltd (NGN), News International Ltd, their families, agents or any other person(s) connected with the competition, including third party promotional partners.
2. The competition starts on July 17, 2008, and closes at midnight on Friday, August 15, 2008. Any entries received after the closing date will be invalid but may still be charged for. All lost, delayed, illegible, corrupted, damaged or incomplete entries will be deemed invalid and the Promoter or the Organiser shall be under no obligation to ensure or notify entrants of the accuracy or completeness of entries.
3. To enter:
a. Make a note of the year and region of your copy of the Yellow Pages (found on the spine of the directory).
b. Look inside Yellow Pages for some inspiration and tell us how you would transform your home. Maybe a new games room (Builders, Snooker & Pool Tables & Equipment) or a home cinema system in the lounge (Audio Visual Services) - it’s up to you! Turn to the page of one of the businesses that could help complete the makeover and take a note of the page number that the section starts on. For example, I’d like a hot tub installed for the summer - Hot Tubs & Spas page 673.
c. Once you have all the info handy, enter by one of the following means of entry:

Go to www.thesun.co.uk/yellowpages and complete the online entry form, including your name, address with postcode and a daytime phone number and your entry in the following format

Call 0901 022 0700 and leave your answer in accordance with the instructions together with your name, address with postcode and a daytime phone number. Calls cost 25p per minute from BT landlines and should last no longer than two minutes. Call charges from mobile phones may vary.
If you call after the closing date you will not be entered into the competition but may still be charged.

Complete the entry form as provided including your name, address with postcode, entry details including Year; Region; How you would transform your home; Business Section; Page and a daytime phone number, and send it to Yellow Pages Competition, The Sun, 1 Virginia, Street, London E98 1RL.
4. Only one entry per person and only one prize will be awarded per household. The winners are responsible for ensuring they are able to accept the prizes as set out and in accordance with these terms and conditions, if they are unable to do so the Promoter reserves the right to judge and award the prize in accordance with these terms and conditions at the judges’ discretion.
5. Entrants should be aware that they will be subject to call charges for an entry by phone, and may be subject to call charges depending on their own individual arrangements for Internet access.
6. There will be one first prize winner, and four runner up prize winners. The prizes shall be provided by the Promoter and will be sent out by the Organiser and shall consist of one cash first prize of £10,000 to be spent on a home makeover (the "First Prize"), and four runner up cash prizes of £5,000 each, to be spent on home makeovers (the “Runner Up Prizes”). The prize winners will be selected from all eligible entries received before the closing date by the Promoter and Organiser’s judging panel which shall convene following the expiry of the Competition Period. Winners will be those who in the opinions of the judges submit the most original and interesting entries and which correctly reference to their chosen Yellow Pages business section. The names of the judges are available from the Promoter on request.
7. The prize winners will be notified within 28 days after the closing date. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact a winner. If they cannot be contacted or are unable to comply with these terms and conditions this may result in forfeiture of the prize and the Promoter and the Organiser reserve the right to offer the prize to the next selected eligible entrant. The prize winners will then have 14 days after such notification to decide how they will use the prize, and to choose the contractors/suppliers they are going to use for their home makeover. The winner(s) must supply the Promoter and the Organiser with quotes for the intended work from reputable suppliers/contractors together with any required legal documentation proving that the winner has the right to make the chosen home improvements to the property i.e. that they are the home owner and that the improvements will be legal. It is the winners’ responsibility to arrange all purchases, works and interior changes. Neither the Organiser nor the Promoter will be in any way responsible for the choice of supplier/contractor or for the work undertaken as a result of winning a prize in this competition nor will the Organiser or the Promoter be liable for any costs in excess of the relevant prize money.
8. Upon confirmation that the selected winners are eligible, their entries comply with these terms and conditions, and that the quotes for the makeover have been received as set out above, the relevant cash prize will be paid to the winner(s) in the form of a cheque.
9. By entering, all eligible entrants agree that the Promoter and the Organiser may, but are not obliged to, photograph and interview the winner(s) in their homes both before and after the makeover for a follow up feature that may be published by the Sun. All eligible entrants hereby agree to make themselves available for such purposes, and the Promoter and the Organiser has the right to require the winner(s) to sign further documents, including a separate release form to ensure that the Promoter and/or the Organiser has the right to use their name, details and any resulting photographs and interview comments as set out here. Failure to do so may result in the prize being withdrawn and offered to the next selected eligible entrant. All eligible entrants agree that the Promoter and the Organiser are entitled, but not obliged, to use their names, photographs (including photographs of their homes), comments and general locations for all reasonable publicity and news purposes in any media throughout the world during this and future promotions by the Promoter, the Organiser or any associated or subsidiary company of News International Limited.
10. By entering, all eligible entrants agree to abide by each and all these terms and conditions. Misrepresentative or fraudulent entries will invalidate an entry. The Promoter reserves the right, with or without cause, to exclude entrants and withhold prizes for violating any of these terms and conditions. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions. Any amendments will be published on the Organiser’s website www.thesun.co.uk/yellowpages
11. The Promoter and Organiser reserve the right to publish entries (including parts of entries) other than the winning entry and publication does not necessarily mean the entrant has won a prize.
12. Entrants will retain copyright in their submitted entries, however, by entering, all entrants licence the Promoter and the Organiser a worldwide royalty-free perpetual licence to edit, publish and use each entry in any and all media (including print and online) for publicity, news and any other purposes.
13. There is no cash or other alternative to the prize stated and the prize is not transferable and no part or parts of the prize may be substituted for other benefits, items or additions.
14. Uses of personal data received by the Organiser in the course of the promotion are subject to the privacy policy found on the Organiser’s website. Winners' names and counties may be published on the Organiser’s website on behalf of the Promoter.
15. Winners may be required to submit valid identification before receiving their prize.
16. The Judges’ decision is final and binding on the entrants. No correspondence will be entered into.
17. The Promoter and/or the Organiser reserve the right at any time to cancel or modify the competition if a competition is not capable of being conducted as specified. The Promoter and/or the Organiser reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or similar value in the event that circumstances beyond their control make this unavoidable.
18. Other than for death or personal injury arising from negligence of the Promoter or the Organiser so far as is permitted by law the Promoter and the Organiser hereby exclude all liability for any loss, damage, cost and expense, whether direct or indirect, howsoever caused in connection with the Competition or any aspect of the Prize.
19. These terms and conditions are governed by and construed and performed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, whose courts shall be the courts of exclusive jurisdiction.
