Hi, this is my first time doing this so sorry if i go on. I am worried out of my mind and making myself ill about this. I remortgaged about a year ago and immediately got into trouble with arrears. I was given a repossession date but managed to get a loan to pay off the arrears. The hearing was still heard even though i didn't go and I had a letter saying it had been "shelved". I then stupidly got into trouble again. They wrote to me asking me to fill out in income and expenditure form, which i did and immediately started paying and offered them £50 a month extra towards my arrears. I didn't hear back and then got a letter asking for arrears in full or it would go to court. I wrote back and asked if they could please give me a chance. The next thing I got a letter from the court saying the hearing had been restored. I have continued to pay as i said i would (the last 3 months) but i have to go to court next Monday. Can anyone please give me any sort of reassurance. I am a single mother of 2 children and I could not bear it if they took my house. I am really really trying. Thanks

Hi and welcome you will get lots of advice on here about mortgages and what steps to take, someone will be along shortly with more idea than me.
I would also advise that you post over on the Debt Free Wannabe Board and post an SOA so people can help you make sure you have all your finances in order and if you can cut back on certain things.

ring the solicitors who are acting for the bank, tell them you have been paying your mortgage payment and extra toward the arrears and ask that the court date be put back or cancelled as you are doing everything you can.
They may well say no but if you don't ask you definitely won't get! Keep a note of the date and time you spoke to them and the name of who you spoke to.
If it does go to court then make sure you attend and tell the court that you have been paying extra off your own back and that you have asked that as a result of this that the hearing be postponed.
The courts don't want to order a repo but if some one isn't making the effort, which you are, then they have no choice.
If the court does grant a reposession order it may well be that this is suspended due to the fact that you are making your payments and paying extra but if you stop paying them again then you won't get another chance.
Seek the advice of the CAB tomorrow morning first thing and take all your paperwork with you, be carefull of websites claiming to be repo helplines and the such like..most are sell and rent back merchants.
Good luck with it, get as much advice as you can and be as noce as you can to the other side, falling out with them will get you absolutely nowhereHappily an ex mortgage broker!0
