Glastonbury Festival official website's Photo Competition is now open. See below for the link to the upload page. Are you a snap-happy Glastonbury-goer? Did you find yourself focusing your camera or mobile phone on all the extraordinary sights the Festival had to offer, from bands and theatre companies to poets, celebrities, sculptures or wildly enthusiastic people at the stone circle at dawn on Sunday? Did you come home with more images stuffed onto your memory card than you knew what to do with?
If so, Glastonbury Festival’s official website has a solution for you; enter the best of them into the 2008 Glastonbury Photo Competition. The three best photographs will earn their takers a pair of tickets to next year’s Festival and ten runners up will each receive a Glastonbury T-shirt.
So if you took your camera to this year’s Festival and kept your eyes peeled for the extraordinary events that are so commonplace at Glastonbury, you could be in with a chance. Previous Glastonbury photo competitions have produced some iconic photos, some of which you can see published on this page; but we know that you can do just as well, if not better – there was just so much to see at this year’s Festival.
The competition is now open for submissions, which should have given you time to sort through the pictures and discover the masterpieces buried in the depths of your camera, and will close at midnight on August 8th. The winners will be announced in September 2008. To enter your photos click here.
All photographs submitted to the competition must be under 200k in size – any larger than that and they will be disqualified. To save a photograph to an appropriate size in Adobe Photoshop, click on the Image drop down menu, open Image Size and, in pixel dimensions, change the width to 450 pixels. Click OK and then, in the File click down menu, choose save for web.
Terms & Conditions

1. The competition opens on Monday, July 7th 2008
2. The closing deadline for the competition is midnight on August 8th 2008.
3. Winners and highly commended entrants will be informed by September 15th 2008.
4. Entrants may submit up to five photographs of 200k or less each; anything bigger than that will be disqualified automatically. Entrants must make sure that they keep a high-resolution copy of their photographs.
5. There will be three prizes of a pair of tickets for the next Glastonbury Festival awarded to the three best photographs. Ten runners up will each receive a Glastonbury T-shirt
6. Copyright in the photographs submitted for the competition will remain with the photographer or other copyright owner but, by entering the competition, the owner of the copyright irrevocably licences Glastonbury Festivals Ltd the right to publish the photograph itself or arrange publication through third parties in any form of publication in any media.
7. The winners and the ten highly commended photographs will be published on the Glastonbury Festival Official Website.
8. All personal information submitted with any competition application will be held for the purposes of the Glastonbury Festival Official Website Photo Competition only until December 31st and will not be used for any other purpose. The provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998 will apply.
9. The decision of the judges is final. No correspondence will be entered into with anyone other than the winning or highly commended entrants.
