I want to buy or make a wolf costume, like max from Where the Wild Things are!

Options
Hey, hope someone can help.
An adult male friend of mine really wants a costume like Max and I can't seem to find a reasonable way of doing it without too much time and expense. My budget is £30 and my sewing experience is slim to none. I was thinking of buying a baby-gro in an adult size and adding the whiskers, ears and tail but they are all so expensive. The other option is a hooded dressing gown but I am not sure where to get one from.

Any good ideas? I would love to be able to do it!

How about thermal long johns and a long sleeve white top ?

  • Or how about a cheap sheet - get him to lie on it and cut round him ( gingerbread man style ) cut out face hole and slit down middle fix on velcro ( assume he may need the loo!!!)
    just an idea! x

Ooh, good idea, didn't imagine making it in 2 pieces but that might work... I think the idea I have in my head will prove too expensive as I can't work out how to sew an all in one that won't be a disaster. If I could get a top with a hood and some tracksuit bottoms in a matching colour I could just add the tail and ears... Hmmm, thank you!

Anyone know where I can get a tail from now :)

    il_430xN.13081521.jpg Cute.....

What about one of the white overalls you can buy for painting. They are all in one and some have hoods, you would then only need to add ears and a bit of detailing.

Kind of liike these on ebay.

Google 'Hooded Painter Boilersuit' and you should get a few hits. 58098_DO.jpg

  • Saw white boilersuits in Poundland on Friday. Cheapest ones you'd probably be able to get. And for a pound you could get more than one to practice on.

If anyone is still checking this, the costume was made and went down incredibly well, thank you!
