Hi, I'm not sure but I think it's 2002
I found an article on the BBC that said that the first one was created in 1902 but Steiff first exported them to America in 1903.

:eek: the sites I found on google suggested 2003, am having another look  :eek:0 -
Thanks, I've entered with 2002 but you're right, a lot of sites do suggest it's 2003 too so I'm none the wiser!
It's one of these really ambiguous questions as both dates are mentioned so it just gets really confusing!0 -
I've gone for 2002 because at the bottom of the Wikipedia page there is a link to a BBC news story from 2002- it's like this..
Teddy bear celebrates 100th birthday BBC, 2002-12-03
The link is no longer active but the story must have existed. It's listed in the references at the bottom:-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teddy_bear2008 Wins Total- £315.27
2009-
Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara (£7.99)
Years supply of Kerastase conditioner (£234)
2x books (£13.98)
L'Occitane Cherry Blossom Hand Cream (£7)0 -

The story does still exist, it's the one I posted the link for in Post 7 , I found it when searching google for the answer, I think the BBC has changed all of the links on it's website recently but the number of the story is the same.
