I use an old recipe book that came with my nans cooker in the 30/40's to make terrific raspberry jam. Having just got back from the PYO I had it out and that reminded me that it has some extraordinary recipes in (by todays standards) one of which I wanted to share with you.
If anyone would like the recipe for SHEEPS HEAD WITH BRAIN SAUCE just let me know!
I've also got Pineapple and Porridge Pudding (A way of using up Cold Porridge it says)!

Talking about a way to use up cold porridge. When my three were young I use to each morning mix in with the left over porridge, flour, egg, allspice, cinnamon etc, dash of milk, put it in a round cake tin and leave it until half an hour before morning tea to cook it. It didn't rise much but it tasted nice warm. Money was extremely tight and I learnt to be inventive. My father loved brains. My mother cooked them for him occassionaly for breakfast. Eeeew.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
