A quick reminder to those who didn't know or had forgotten, it is blackberry season at the moment and for the next few weeks, so if you have any commonland or parks about it is worth getting out there with the kids and grabbing your fair share.
Remember to take something to cut back the odd bramble branch and a stick to beat down the nettles. Also wear long trousers and sleeves!
An hour at the weekend yielded up the equivalent to about 10 supermarket pummets. Haven't a clue what to do with them though. I have frozen loads pending a decision on making ice cream or pies.

I've got loads in my garden that have been 'out' for about a month; they seem to get earlier every year! I'm making a great big pie this afternoon with lashings of double cream. Goodbye forever, waistline!"I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0

It's been a good year for the blackberries! I have quite a few in my freezer already for making into jam later and there are loads more on the bushes.:dance:Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Spent yesterday evening annointing my scratches, scrapes and nettle stings after spending the afternoon on a blackberry hunt. (OK so the sun was out, which means my legs come out! - Not the brightest of ideas I know  ) But managed to get 1lb of blackberries, with which I was quite chuffed.

take a hat too and if the stick is hooked you can drag the branches down towards you instead of reaching up or in.0
