If you've got a juicer you could try this:

My nan used to swear by just drinking the water left over when boiling cabbage. I would have thought that this would kill the vitamins but I've never had a mouth ulcer and have a mug at least once a week so there must be some truth in it.

I use the cabbage water to make gravy. I couldn't just drink the cabbage water. Yuk!

  • My late husband used to swear by the vitamins in boiled cabbage water as well. He made sure all the children drank it, but I don't think they appreciated it as much.

  • I have drunk cabbage water since I was a small child - it works towards keeping the skin clear of spots and is full of vitamins. The rest I use for the gravy, including any other veg I cook, so everyone gets the remaining vitamins on their dinner :D
