Paramount Pictures is offering free tickets to the preview screening of its new film Arctic Tale.

From the makers of March of the Penguins, the film tells the story of the lives of a polar bear, Nanu, and a walrus pup called Seela, and the environmental issues affecting their lives and depleting habitat.

You can watch the trailer here.

The film is on general release on February 8, but Paramount is offering readers of this blog the chance to see the film before anyone else in a free screening taking place in five sites nationwide
    (Covent Garden Odeon,
    Manchester Printworks,
    Edinburgh Lothian Road Odeon,
    Bath Odeon and Southampton Odeon)
on Sunday February 3 at 11am.
To get free tickets for the screening, you must print off this blog post and take it to the cinema box office before the date of the screening, in exchange for two tickets to see the film (first-come, first-served basis).

This is just to inform you that I sent the OH to the Odeon Covent Garden to get some tickets but he just phoned me to say they hadn't got any tickets yet and no idea when they would come in. I am trying to find a number for the Guardian but am struggling at the moment. Will report back if I find out some more.

I spoke to the Guardian a number of times today as they never phoned me back and I finally got the number of a Vicky Parker who deals with this: 0207 292 7397. She said all tickets should be there by today now and she also said that the Edinburgh screening was on Feb 3, and she would be giving the Odeon there a call on why they are giving out wrong information to people. And apparently my name is on the guest list now and I can just go on the day. I am not sure I can trust this though!

For anyone who lives in or around Nottingham: Buy or otherwise purloin yourself the Evening Post.

The Nottingham Evening Post have just started a new coupon collect. Collect 3 out of the 6 coupons that are being published and take them along to the Savoy cinema on the night you want to see a film for one free entry.

Coupons are printed from Monday 7th until Saturday 12th January. (Mondays coupon was on page 20).

These coupons can only be used Monday to Thursday.

I really like the Savoy and it is good to support independant cinemas. However parking is a bit of a sod round there.
People die, buildings burn, but true love is for ever.

Welcome to the Evening Standard Film Club, a unique opportunity to view a great selection of the latest film releases in London - from the latest thriller to the must-see comedy, the all out action spectacular to the most insightful documentary or children's delight.
If you love film then this is the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to exclusive reader screenings across London, giving you a head-start to form your opinion before the critics give theirs.

Free preview tickets to see No Country For Old Men.

No Country For Old Men is a new thriller from Academy Award®-winning filmmakers the Cohen brothers, based on the acclaimed novel by Cormac McCarthy.

The time is our own, when rustlers have given way to drug-runners and small towns have become free-fire zones. Featuring a cast that includes Academy Award®-winner Tommy Lee Jones (THE FUGITIVE, MEN IN BLACK), Josh Brolin (GRINDHOUSE), Academy Award®-nominee Javier Bardem (THE SEA INSIDE), Academy Award®-nominee Woody Harrelson (THE PEOPLE VS. LARRY FLYNT) and Kelly Macdonald (TRAINSPOTTING), NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN is written for the screen and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, produced by Scott Rudin, Ethan Coen and Joel Coen, and executive produced by Robert Graf and Mark Roybal.

The story begins when Llewelyn Moss (BROLIN) finds a pickup truck surrounded by a sentry of dead men. A load of heroin and two million dollars in cash are still in the back. When Moss takes the money, he sets off a chain reaction of catastrophic violence that not even the law - in the person of aging, disillusioned Sheriff Bell (JONES) - can contain. As Moss tries to evade his pursuers - in particular a mysterious mastermind who flips coins for human lives (BARDEM) - the film simultaneously strips down the American crime drama and broadens its concerns to encompass themes as ancient as the Bible, and as bloodily contemporary as this morning's headlines.
