Ouch

OH has ingeniously washed some of my anodised posh Raymond Blanc saucepans I bought in the new year sales in the dishwasher, with the result that their outsides look all washed out, dull grey (rather than matt charcoal) and stained. This despite me telling him I'd kill him if he ruined them. Is there any way to restore the finish?

I don't know the answer, though if you kept the labels there should be a helpline telephone number you could call. If you don't have the labels then I'm sure if you called into Debenhams or some other retailer you could jot the number down.

Incidentally, some moons ago I used to iron for my then other half. I hated it and purposefully ironed two creases in each sleeve of his posh work shirts - and that was the end of that (the ironing that is). Has your other half made a similar "freudian slip"? If so, take smallest pan and test its strength, preferably on OH's bonce....the silly boy!:D

I'm sure on last wednesday's 'how clean is your house' programme Kim showed the family how to make pans sparkle. I'm afraid I can't remember what she did. I'm sure it had something to do with foil though????

Have you tried soaking them in hot water with biological washing powder. That may help.

let us know how you get on.

she put rhubarb in a bit saucepan then put the smaller pans inside and it took away the scale. it's just the acid in it, they're struggling to think of ideas other than vinegar!
