Posting on the paddle stuck in breadmaker thread has reminded me of the uses for
Cocktail Sticks
1. clean the narrow edging seal on the sink.
2. clean holes on gas cooker burners
3. get bread from under the breadmaker paddle
4. test cakes to see if they are cooked
5. clean the dust and grease from any narrow grooves eg kettle handle, bit where fridge top and sides join
6. And of course, making cheese and onion hedgehogs for parties
There must be more has anyone else any ideas?

Erm.... use in cocktails?
Or at least, use them to fish out the marachino cherries you found at the back of your kitchen cupboard (as I did tonight. Yum, I love 'em)
Toothpicks?
To make flags when you label up your sarnies etc at parties?0 -
How about toothpicks? or, if you are very careful not to dig too hard you can clean deep grooves and indentations in silver and brass with them0
-
i often use them as push pins in our soft cork board0

For sticking in the end of corn on the cobs when you can't find the metal fork thingies. As a javelin for a very small fairy.0

I'll leave one out for the tooth fairy next visit - she might appreciate it"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

Knit a bit and half way through a row on two sticks and then stick on the front of a home made new baby card. The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0

Gosh! Thanks everyone for your ideas.
Ticklemouse do you really use them for Cocktails?
I like the flags and knitting ones. Must pass the card idea onto my DIL who makes her own cards.0 -
Cocktail sticks are something I have on occasion (though i can't remember which occasions) wished I had in the cupboard, but they always seem too pointless, and something easily forgettable on a trip to the supermarket..if more ideas come up I may be persuaded, but at the moment they seem like useless little sticks..Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0
