Major grumble from me....Why is it having to be on Channel 5?

We don't have a digi box or Sky dish or whatever - partly because of cost, but mostly because I don't feel I want to encourage the kids to watch any more TV than they already do - and in our area you can't get Channel 5 on the normal aerial, unless you have it made extra long for about £120, which we haven't got.

Please, can't you make ITV have you again? Although with no ads for junk food, tobacco or booze allowed before 9, it begs a question about who will be buying the advertising slots....Kelloggs? Kit-e-Kat? McDonalds health food?

A presenter/contracted member of staff on a programme cannot mention their own 'product' under Ofcom rules.

Five had the foresight to offer me the show and to allow me to do the type of MoneySaving show no one else did. I've been working for four years to get this type of programme and got a bloody nose from many doors beng closed in my face. I dont choose the channel, they choose me and very grateful I am too.

Post Covering all the bases

I've just received my ticket for your Dress Run on the 7th January.

Had to smile at the bit in the release form about using my voice, likeness etc ".....in all media and formats throughout the universe". Expanding to Mars and Jupiter are you, Martin?

I wonder if the Lawyer also wrote this:

Greetings

I wanted to send some sort of holiday greeting to everyone, but it is so difficult in today's world to know exactly what to say without offending someone. So I met with my lawyers yesterday, and on their advice I wish to say the following:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the summer/winter solstice holiday (depending upon your particular hemisphere of residence), practiced with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make our country great (not to imply that it is necessarily greater than any other country) and without regard to the race, creed, colour, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms:
This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wishor to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wishor. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wishor.

Disclaimer: No trees were harmed in the sending of this message; however, a significant number of electrons were slightly inconvenienced.

Oh - and a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

I like how Lara did the weather report just before it started.
She should have handed over to you with a kiss...

Overall, I thought the show was good.
Wasn't a mega fan of the bit where you went through Paul and Debbie's wallet (well, one card of it) and gave them a rating (a tad corny)... but the rest was top notch.

Thanks, and keep it up.

A very successful show as OH finally realised that we may actually be due some money from changing the mortgage...he had not believed me before!

Looking forward to the next show!

Yep, as far as I know, most of the audience were site users and a few of the audience members were forum users, it was great fun! I won't name (user)names though in case they don't want to be outed - I'll leave them to do that if they want to

I was all ears when Martin said if you had paid off your mortgage you could receive some money back. Then he said in the past 6 years. We paid ours off 10 years ago. Was looking forward to receiving a bit more back - especially after getting money back from our endownment. Oh well, will keep watching. Good show by the way.

Martin...

When on TV, and you do your action of the "Forward Slash" you love so very very much, keep in mind... the viewers at home see this as a back slash.
Perhaps you could be so kind as to reverse your action for the sake of the viewer.
Practise it in a mirror a few times - it is bugging a family member.

Thanks.
