Hi,
Currently in France & it was very cheap & low calorie & low fat, so bought it, so now got a bag in the freezer!!
All recipe books at home & not cooked it before, but family likes it in restaurants,
Can anyone help?
P.S. It's a normal bag of pre-cleaned 'body' shells, so don't need to clean it.

The kids love it (Dadday presented it as suiddly diddly ...).
I just cook it sliced in rings with onions/tomatoes on slow heat.
DOn't overcook it or cook on high as it gets tough.
Also very nice added to a fishy risotto.I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -
Hi se999
Hope your having a great time!
I normally cook squid after defrosting it...just to make sure..lol. Normally try and buy/cook fresh same day.
I would mix a light runny batter & dip squid and fry. Serve with salad and lemon juice/mayo and fresh bread. Or you could just cover in flour and gently fry. I love it with salad, chips/new pots etc. You could also serve in a stirfry. Ive also made a pate with squid and prawns and served on french melba toast or normal toast. I do season my squid well-especially if it has been frozen. You could also put in an omellete (sorry spelt wrongly!), or serve with scrambled eggs in place of salmon.
I like my squid crispy but many like it softly cooked.
Hope it works out OK. Enjoy the rest of your hols...im dead jealous

Thanks for the replies.
Tried it tonight with onion, garlic, tomatoes and red pepper, served with pasta and a green salad plus homemade dressing. It all vanished quickly, so to be tried again.
Not actually on holiday, needed to rent somewhere cheaply for 2 months, UK was exhorbitant so I'm an international moneysaver here in France. Even using my french money saving vouchers & looking for promos and bogofs in the supermarkets, applying for my first French loyaltycard at the supermarket on monday - hope the French is good enough!!!0
