The endless wait for CSA money: An ethical question

I have a question to pose to all of you. I am a regular on the dfw board and am living on a shoestring to tackle my debts. :A
I, like most of the rest of you probably have, have an ongoing battle with the CSA.
The latest on my story (and my god has it been a long story) is that the last time i received a payment was June, and that wasn't for the amount that it should have been.
I have been promised payments month in and month out by those people in Belfast, so when I rung today for my weekly rant at them I was unsurprised, although completey gutted to learn that this was all a load of c**p and that I would have to keep waiting.
As i have mentioned I've had this on and off with these people since my daughter was born and now I feel like a full on war.
My ex sees her once a week, he ponces about in designer clothes, drives a nice car, flashes his bloody desiner glasses at me but then goes crying to the CSA saying how poor he is.
So....in short my question to you is would you think it unethical for me to stop him seeing my daughter until he coughs up some money??
All answers on a postcard please! i appreciate hat this must seem low but I really am at the end of my tether. If he'd have paid his bloody wa in the first place I wouldn't be in all of this debt.
:wall: :wall: :wall:
thanks for looking, Laura xx

You would be so wrong to do that, maintenance and contact are two seperate issues. At least your child's father takes some interest in his child!Hit the snitch button!member #1 of the official warning clique.:j:D

I too think it would be wrong, but i totally understand your point!
It would be unfair to your daughter to stop her seeing her father. She is lucky to have a dad who can be ar**d to see her, a lot of children don't even have that.
If you stopped contact, it would be your daughter who suffered and this situation isn't her fault.0 -
It is wrong and immoral to do what you are suggesting. It is your daughter that you would be depriving.
Believe it or not, kids are remarkably cute with understanding what goes on. I "lost" my two to the greediest, most grasping woman on this earth, but today they have nothing to do with her. They realise the hurt and pain that she caused, they saw through her lies and deceit. They understand (without any input from me) what her selfish actions cost them.
So please don't go down this avenue. You are better than that.0 -
well do you know what i'm glad I took the time to check because it turns out that he had been paying since september. God the CSA are useless!!!!!!!!

He is equally as mad with them and told me he is going to see a solicitor on monday about it all.
Its looking like he wants to make an arrangement between the two of us in which case I really need help.
I have been there and done that with him before and he makes two payments and then they mysteriously dry up...just before he turns up in a new Ted Baker coat.
So how can I calculate how much he should pay me?? and is there any legal standing I can take on not receiving payments??
Any more help appreciated

If you know how much he earns there is a calculator on the CSA website otherwise its just bargaining between you both, or rather him paying you what the CSA have told him to pay.
BUT if he decides not to pay then no there is nothing you can do apart from go down the CSA route again:hello:0
