I've been given a kitchen slicer...the sort with a large circular blade that you turn with a handle, brand name is Comet. It still appears to work well and I know that it would be useful for getting thin slices that I can't do with an electric knife. There are no instructions for cleaning, do you just wipe the blade? doesn't sound too good if so. Has anyone got one?

On mine, the blade can be unscrewed and we put it in the dishwasher.0

The blade should unscrew and you can clean it however you want, then you just wipe the rest of the machine with a hot soapy cloth and dry. If you are slicing meat then you will have to do this every time you use it, but for bread, it's not so important.0
