Yeah but they are advertised by someone else, not Amazon themselves, so I bet they won't sell them at that price or they are using the delivery charge to bump it up to a fiver.

    Just my opinion.

These were in Home Bargains for £2.99. I've not been up for a few weeks but they had tons.

Amazon sellers don't set the postal charges, Amazon do. The price charged by sellers is calculated to include the profit available from the set postage charge.

Actually pro-sellers on Amazon can set their own postal prices, sometimes higher than Amazons' recommended prices. Looking at one of the listings above the Amazon rate should be £4 plus 50p per kilo but 2 of the pro-sellers (those with logos instead of just seller names) have set their postal price to £4.99 per item. Its worth comparing sellers therefore and not just plumping for the cheapeast or the one at the top of the list.

I sell in a different area on Amazon and set my postage at £2.60. Another seller undercuts me all the time, only by pennies, to ensure they are top of the list but their postage is £7.99. People are getting ripped off and it shows in their feedback. As people get used to Amazon Marketplace hopefully more buyers will become aware of different postage rates and be more choosy who they purchase from...a bit like many eBay buyers.

I am a pro seller and my postage charges are set by Amazon and I can't change them at all.so you have been lucky to set yours differently n marketplace.

I think you're making the same point as me, though I have no idea who sets the postage charges (seems it's, depending on the circumstances, Amazon or the seller).
