Have only ever used refilltoner. Good service and prices as far as I could see. :)

I've just ordered some for my Samsung ML-4500 from https://www.cartridgeco.co.uk - £30+VAT for 3 bottles which is 6 refills.

    Seems good value to me.

Just done the first refill - undo 5 screws, fill, tighten 5 screws, put back in printer.

Easy enough and not very messy!

Used about half a bottle of toner, so looks like 6 refills for £35 is realistic - £6 a throw, compared to well over £30 for a new cartridge. :D

I am clearing out my old laser printers and associated toner.  I have one brand new (compatible) HP 95A toner cartridge (for Laserjet II and III and Canon LBP-8II and 8III) and 2 part-used ones. I also have a part-used cartridge for a Brother HL-631 printer.

If you make any reasonable offer for the unused one, I'd happily throw in the others for free - if you think it's worth the marginal extra postage cost.

The Brother one is a small item so the postage wouldn't cost much.

The printers keep jamming, so that's why I'm ditching them - not because of the print quality, which is fine.

If anyone wants the printers (Canon LBP-8II and Canon LBP-8III which are clones of HP Laserjet II and III) and Brother HL-631 or any parts for spares, give me a shout too!

If I don't hear anything within a week (i.e. by Sat 22 Jan) the whole lot will go to the tip.
  • Hi

Anyone out there refilled a Samsung ML-1710?

It's supposed to be easy but this would be my first time. Can you only refill toner cartridges a certain number of times?

    Thanks

Can you refill a Canon EP 27 or if not where is the cheapest place to buy a toner cartridge?

  • You can refill them with bulk powder maybe twice if you are lucky. The print quality depends not just on the toner powder (and they are NOT all the same- the manufacturers spend mucho dosh developing their kit) but also on the amount of waste toner left lying around and the state of the drum/ fuser. Only by replacing all of the elements when required will the print quality remain A1. Overall the best method of saving £££ is to buy remanufactured or compatible cartridges/ toner. Not bunging in a generic powder with a used drum and full waste tank.
  • You could also try https://www.zinetic.co.uk - they stock both do it yourself laser refills and also remanufactured cartridges.

You are also really helping the enviroment by refilling/buying remanufactured as it takes 100's of years for a cartridge to decompose..
