Apricots

I try to cook from scratch as much as possible. Loads of recipes involved dried apricots which we all love but are so expensive. I'm sure that I often negate my savings with the price of apricots. Does anyone know of a cheap source or cheaper alternatives?

Occasionally Holland and Barrett do dried apricots on a special price or a 2 bags for price of 1 or try your local market if you don't mind buying them loose.

Julian Graves are very like Holland and Barret in the offers they do but do check your local health food shop haven't got a better deal as often the prepacks are overpriced and even multibuy offers may be above the price the healthfood shop charges.

Julian Graves products are available at Weyvale Garden Centres (I think I posted this the other day for someone who makes their own muesli) and they often have the most fantastic reduced bargains with a goodly shelf life! Might be worth a look, but not for a regular source~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I find Asian/Middle Eastern supermarkets can be quite competitive.
Also "real" markets as they tend to sell them loose alongside the nuts etcWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
I used to love Julian Graves but is it just me who thinks their prices have become horrendously expensive lately?Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

I only buy from Julian Graves when the stuff are on offer, the prices are quite good then. Also I use a store at Lakeside Village Doncaster and you can get a VIP card which gives you 10% off. If there is a store in a shopping centre near you it might be worth asking if they have a loyalty type card.0
