RBS only do purchases, you need to go to first active (part of the same co) for remortgages - see this is the problem when people start messing with these silly search engine things

RBS may only do purchase business via brokers , but direct they also do other classes of business.

    Hi

I've been in touch with L & C and been recommended a five year fixed with Cheltenham & Gloucester at 5.78%. Anyone know if this is good? And as far as I was aware L & C are a no fees, whole of market broker so don't charge a fee?

Of course you have to act quick with the fixed 's as a lot of them are being pulled from the market place in anticipation of the interest rise very soon!

Also C & G are charging no set up fees so very cheap to set up this mortgage. Should I go for it?

    Thanks!

Beware of the c&g's solicitors, we started to remortgage with these in february on a 5yr fixed at 5.35% (fee free and free legals etc) and are still waiting to complete (should hopefully be this week.... but equally was supposed to be last week:mad: ). The problem seems to be that the solicitors appointed by c&g have taken on too much work and cant deal with it all, they wont respond to telephone calls, emails or snail mail. Our financial advisors have never come across this before as the solicitors wouldnt event respond to them, equally when c&g tried to get hold of them they had as much trouble as I did.
