Coffee Grounds

I've just been cleaning out the coffee maker here at work, and as I threw the used coffee grounds away it occurred to me that there might be some uses for them. Does anyone know of any? Even if they're just good for plants or something.

You can add them to the compost heap, or throw them straight on to your borders and beds (supposedly repel slugs although I doubt it!). I bring home my fruit cores etc for our compost, although I have yet to bring myself to collect the tea bags from our tea and coffee stations!
  • Coffee grounds are supposed to be really good for cellulite! You rub them on your thighs which I suppose means you're exfoliating too! Most expensive detox/cellulite buster/firming creams contain caffeine (probably as its a diuretic). Detox plans usually ban you from drinking the stuff, but apparently it works well on the outside of you if not on the inside.

I haven't got cellulite (she says smugly) but I DO have a lot of slugs intent on eating my money-saving rocket and lettuce patch!

I'm sure I read somewhere that coffee grounds(dried out) can be used to stuff pin cushions as they stop the pins going rusty!! :)
