Starting to Panic

I've made arrangements with all my creditors including Wescot who are acting on behalf of the RBS, now in spite of making standing order payments to them they've dropped me and I'm now dealing with Allied International Credit LTD.

These characters aren't interested in regular payments I can afford and are chasing me for the full amount of £9063, so I've just had a less than fun chat with one of their people who has informed me they'll be sending out officers to assess my assets with a view to seizure, added to this was talk of CCJ's, charges on my home and bancruptcy.

This has hit me hard considering I had an agreement with Wescot and was just starting to get back on my feet, can anyone give me a clue as to where I stand and what I should do? as the thought of bailiffs appearing out of the blue horrifies me.

Thanks in advance, Ian

I cant help as I 've no real experience of this but just wanted to say that it sounds like theyre trying to frighten you into paying up.

I'm sure others will have some good advice, just hang on in there, they'll be along soon

this is the usual scare tactics to try to make you pay more than you can afford.

its unlikely they will send anyone out but if they do they have absolutely no powers at all ... tell them to go away.

in order to send out real baliffs they need to take you to court. its unlikely that they will do this as the judge is likely to make an order to pay similar to what you are paying already...they know this too and it costs them money to go to court.

you should continue to send the payment that you have been doing.

as above, refuse to answer the door if anyone does turn up and keep asking for an arrangement to clear it.

make it clear that if it goes to court they will get nothing or £5 a month!
  • If you havn't got the money you can't pay. Just continue to do your best and don't let them frighten you.

  • Ensure you maintain your payments and keep copies of all correspondence. Inform all parties that you will only communicate in writing and keep a note book of dates times and content of any telephone calls. If you are getting harrassment write to the original creditor informing them of events.

Best of luck in dealing with these bullying thugs. Shout and scream at them down them phone, they soon get fed up with abuse!!!!

  • Ditto all of the above.
Call their bluff - sonner or later they will come round to your way of thinking. If they phone ask them to hold for a moment. Count to ten and tell them that the call is being recorded. You will be amazed at the change in attitude,
Inform them that your other creditors are all helping you and if they want to stand alone you will apportion their payment to the others.

  • I don't know much about this sort of thing although I do know that the Bailiffs cannot force their way into the house unless they get a warrant of execution from the Court and a police Escort. This is their last resort and will cost them money too.

Have you contacted Wescot to find out why your debt has been passed on?

I am sure that everything will turn out ok - hang on in there;)
