I used to fancy a Spong - Sandra Spong actually, when I was aged about thirteen! Now I prefer Holly - Holly Golightly!0

I thought this was a typo for "sponge" - I think it is some kind of kitchen gadget- is it a mincer?
:):) "This site is addictive!"

Don't know if that link to Ebay will work, but it seems to be a manufacturer of all things that mince and/or grind
.

think, 60s kitsch, turquoise or orange plastic lol0 -
Yes you can mince both raw and cooked meat with it, add an onion in small chunks and it will do that as well. Also does orange peel for marmalade.0

Mince up onion and apple to make chutney. It costs me about 15p jar and the children think it tastes like BransonLove living in a village in the country side0

A bit early for this one but my Mum has a really old metal one of these and it comes out every November for mincemeat making day, she makes tonnes of the stuff for giving to people.
Mix; mixed dried fruit, suet, mixed peel, sliced or chopped bramley apple, brown sugar, mixed spice and probably loads more things I've forgotten in a bowl then pour in the top and turn the handle until it comes out of the hole like mush (this was my job as a kid and my arms ached for days after
) It does make lovely mincemeat. When life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt
