Home chemistry experiments...

Options
Many of you know I have made soap, and also do the laundry gloop. I mixed a few things together a couple of days ago and it worked, so I thought I'd share it now I know its tried and tested. This got the stains out of my mucky daughter's trousers. I had a 'control' for my experiment which was a teatowel with the same type of stain on, and without the stain remover it didnt come out.
MY HOME MADE LAUNDRY STAIN REMOVER
1/2 cup tesco value washing up liquid
1/2 cup white vinegar
put into an empty trigger spray bottle, and top up with water
shake
spray onto the offending stain before washing

cHEAP AS CHIPS;)

I saw no ill effects from this, that is to say the fabric was fine afterwards.
BUT I spose I will have to add for legal reasons 'you use this solution at your own risk' :)

I've been trying to get mud stains off my sons pale grey t-shirt for the past 3 or 4 washes. I'll let you know if your stain remover works on old mud stains :)

mud from my daughter's pale trousers, she had been sitting on the ground outside :(
But there were also ketchup and school dinner stains (origin not known...)
And as she had been on the lawn a bit of grass.

I tried it on an old and much washed mud stain without success. I think that like many stain removers your concoction will work best on fresh stains :)
